These delightful doughnuts combine the flavors of apple pie and pumpkin in a creamy, fried treat. Perfect for fall or anytime you crave a sweet and comforting dessert.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup canned pumpkin puree
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 tsp ground cloves
  • 1/4 tsp ground allspice
  • 1 cup diced apples preferably Granny Smith
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup apple pie filling
  • Oil for frying
  • Powdered sugar for dusting

Instructions:

In a large bowl, combine the pumpkin puree, granulated sugar, brown sugar, melted butter, egg, and vanilla extract

Mix until well combined

In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and all the spices

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the pumpkin mixture, stirring until a dough forms

Fold in the diced apples

Heat oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 350F 175C

Drop spoonfuls of the dough into the hot oil and fry until golden brown, turning occasionally to ensure even cooking

This should take about 3-4 minutes per batch

Remove the doughnuts from the oil and place them on paper towels to drain excess oil

Once the doughnuts have cooled slightly, use a piping bag to inject each doughnut with a small amount of apple pie filling

In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream until stiff peaks form

Dust the cream-filled doughnuts with powdered sugar and serve with a dollop of whipped cream on top

Enjoy your delicious Apple Pie Cream Filled Pumpkin Doughnuts!
